Stephen Wolfram is an independent scientist funding his research through the sale of his Wolfram software. I first came across him many years ago, perhaps 4-5 years ago if I can recall correctly. Perhaps earlier. I was initially hooked and very intrigued by his work and still am in some aspects however after coming across valid criticisms against him I have become a bit more critical in my thinking regarding some of their research and theories.
